This treatment follows the classical facial with the addition of "hot" stones that feel like hot fingers massaging your face. Smaller hematite stones are used for working around the face. Hematite is a very dense stone high in iron (metal). It is said to be paramagnetic and becomes slightly magnetic when heated. Because of this composition these stones retain their heat, even when small, and work best for small spaces.
When your face has been cleansed and exfoliated, a thin layer of volcanic mud mask is covered with a warm compress to help hold heat, and small hot stones are placed in strategic places. A smaller set of stones are placed between the toes and a few larger stones (3-4 inch) are placed in your hands, under your neck and beneath your kidneys.
Massaging the point between your eyes helps shift stagnant energy and clear headaches. Working beneath the eyes will diminish puffiness of the eyes and tension lines, and light pressure on the cheeks and nasal cavities will help clear sinus congestion. As the stones begin to cool, they'll be placed around the collarbone, and more hot stones will be placed in key points along your face. As a grand finale, the finishing cream is applied and one hot (Yang) and one cold (Yin) stone are used, with the hot stone following the cold, which leaves all the senses stimulated, yet relaxed. Your skin will feel hydrated and you will feel the glow from the inside out.
