During the cleansing process, gentle fingers will massage your face, starting at the top of your head where blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatics meet.  The  head is thought to be the positive pole (Yang) of the body and the feet the negative pole (Yin). By working on both poles, you help bring balance, release tension, and improve mental clarity. So, your hands and feet will be massaged while you are receiving your facial, and heated booties and mitts will be placed on them to soften your hands and feet, and the warmth of the booties and mitts will help you release the cares of the world and totally relax.

All natural products are used on your skin at all times at The Kerr House. Not only do we feel it is important to eat all natural foods, but also to use natural products on your body. So, guests who have very sensitive skin and often have reactions to various skin care products are very happy with the products used in our treatments.

After a thorough deep cleansing, removing the soil and oil from your face and neck, a toner will be used, and a gentle exfoliant will gently be massaged into your chin, nose, cheeks, and forehead to eliminate dead skin cells.  A facial masque will then be applied for an even deeper cleanse and tightening of your skin. When the masque if removed, nimble fingers will once again massage your face and neck to stimulate the flow of blood and nourish your skin. Your skin type will determine the pressure and time of the massage, as oily skin can enjoy pressure, but sensitive skin needs a light touch.  Dry skin requires an invigorating approach.

A moisturizer will be applied to lock in the re-hydration and protect your skin, and you will feel like a new person!  One reason you feel so great after your facial is that four of the seven chakras are found in the upper body.  Many key pressure points are located in your head, and 70% of the nerves in your body are from your shoulders up, so a facial is very therapeutic as well as relaxing, and the good feelings will last for some time.
